So 3 months later (its still showing the date as March 6 but its June 5) I am re-visiting this and I'm honestly going to start blogging now! I do have a good excuse though, we don't have a computer at the moment! We have Corey's work computer for a while as he didn't turn it in at the end of the school year as he was supposed to. Good for me!
We welcomed little Audrina Marie into our family May 6 (right on my due date)! She was 7.1 lbs and 19.5 in. I forget how fast time flies by with a newborn! Its so SO hard to believe that Audrina is already one month old! Lets see what we know about this little princess so far
- Shes absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I couldn't be prouder!
- She was 8.5 lbs at her 2 week check up (doctor says shes gaining GOOD weight)
- Only waking up about once or twice during the night
- Started smiling a few days ago and it melts my heart
- Hates tummy time (maybe every little one does?)
Big brother Kael loves her to pieces and thinks he should help out with her more than he should! He tries picking her up and carrying her around, throws toys at her for her to play with, tries sharing his food with her, etc. He has definitely been a bit jealous of her at times as well. When he wants me to play with him and I'm feeding Audrina he tells me "put Drina down mommy! Come play!" It breaks my heart for sure but I'm sure it will get better with time! He is such a spoiled little boy (not going to lie ;] ) and so used to getting what he wants. Its hard to stay patient with him when he throws fits about not getting all the attention anymore! Here's a little update on Kael as well
- He will be 2 years old! 2! on June 8
- Hes a TALKER! I was surprised at how fast he started picking up words (around January) and hasn't stopped since
- Hes not a picky eater, he seems to love all food
- He would play outside ALL day every day if we had the time
- Kind of interested in using the toilet but mostly just when we change his diaper he insists on going
- Finally becoming more interested in reading books. He has always been so busy he couldn't even sit through a story before he had to run off to do something else
We had my family here in town for a long weekend (being Memorial Day) last weekend, that sure was a busy time. Everyone made it except for Jessica and Matthew. On Saturday we went down to Canal Park in Duluth then headed up the North Shore a ways to check out Gooseberry Falls. Sunday the guys had a good time fishing and we had fun doing some shopping (at our wonderfully oversized mall...). Then Sunday evening we had a baptism for Audrina and a birthday party for Kael. Monday the guys made it out golfing before K&K and R&L had to head back to the U.P. and everyone that was still here went to go check out one of the old mines in the area and see the HUGE mining trucks. Finished off the weekend with a yummy dinner at Corey's parents and a bit of relaxing back at home before my parents headed home early Tuesday morning.
Until next time...hopefully not in September! Although our summers tend to be very busy with Corey not having to work (one perk of being a teacher)! And maybe every post won't feel like reading a book...
